Professor Layton and the Lost Future, know as Professor Layton 3 and the Lost (Unwound) Future in other countries

One of the biggest markets for the Nintendo DS is the puzzle game, spearheaded by the Professor Layton series, indeed the Nintendo DSi XL was actually a spin off console made for the ‘older’ puzzle market. The first introduction to the Professor was back in November 2008 with Professor Layton and The Curious Village.

This is now the third offering for the series. The drive is a collection of 100+ puzzles and mini games, but the characters of Professor Hershal Layton and his sidekick Luke have spawned their own animated movie.

The puzzles are very much the same mix before, maths puzzles, logic puzzles and complete head twisters.

If you are looking for a game for your DS that can completely absorb you for hours on end then this is very much for you. It is a lot more fun than the brain training series and a lot nicer to look at.

As they explore both modern day and future London, you’ll be able to unravel not just a new mystery but over 165 brand new puzzles. Ranging from logic puzzles and riddles to maths quizzes, physical puzzles, optical illusions and more – there’s always a new challenge around every corner.

For those worried about getting stuck, this new game now has an extra superhint option for when you’re really stumped, as well as plenty of more subtle help to get you to the end of the game. Although with free weekly downloadable puzzles to enjoy long after the game is released you can ensure the brainteasing never ends.

Key Game Features

  • Professor Who: Prof. Layton and Luke are on their most exciting adventure yet, as a journey to London sees them catapulted 10 years into the future.
