I have previously posted articles about getting about free LEGAL Horror Movies online, now it is Halloween just a quick pointer for those interested on how to get free ebooks and audio books, LEGALLY.
eBooks are going to be the biggest thing for Scifi and Horror in 2011, so if you have your Amazon Kindle, Sony eReader or other brand eBook reader this is something you have to check out:
Free eBooks by Project Gutenberg
Download over 33,000 free ebooks to read on your PC, iPad, Kindle, Nook, Sony Reader, iPhone, iPod Touch, Android or other mobile or cell phone.
We carry high quality books: Our free books were previously published by bona fide publishers and digitized with the help of thousands of volunteers.
No fee or registration is required, but if you find Project Gutenberg useful, we kindly ask you to donate a small amount so we can buy and digitize more books. Other ways to help include digitizing more books, recording audio books, or reporting errors.
Over 100,000 free ebooks are available through our Partners, Affiliates and Resources.
Click here to Visit Gutenberg, the books are available due to expired copyright or if the book has entered the Public Domain due to other reasons.? Horror greats like Bram Stoker’s Dracula, Edgar Allen Poe and HP Lovecraft are represented there. Please note, read Gutenberg’s notes on copyright as some titles may not be universally public domain.
Free Audio Books
Also for public domain literature there is a service called Librivox, which produces spoken word versions of public domain titles. The audio is human read by volenteers so quality may vairy. Again there is a huge collection of horror titles, many short stories are assembled into collections for easy download.
LibriVox provides free audiobooks from the public domain. There are several options for listening. The first step is to get the mp3 or ogg files into your own computer
Visit Librivox, again some titles may not be universally public domain, so check the info on site.
