One of the BBC’s most powerful and controversial SF series of the 1970s is now available for collectors to own for the very first time, courtesy of SF and horror specialist DD Home Entertainment!

June 2005 sees the first ever release of THE OMEGA FACTOR, a series once described by TV critic Mary Whitehouse as ?horoughly evil? James Hazeldine, Louise Jameson (Leela from DR WHO) and John Carlisle star in this terrifying ten part drama about a secret government department investigating the outer boundaries of the paranormal.

THE OMEGA FACTOR will be released as a special 3-disc DVD collector’s set featuring all ten episodes from the series as well as a host of exclusive special features.

DVD extras include Inside The Omega Factor – a new and exclusive documentary examining the making of the series and the controversy it caused! It features George Gallaccio (producer/director), Jack Gerson (creator/writer), Anthony Read (writer), Eric Davidson (director) and Natasha Gerson ‘Mhorag’). An audio commentary is provided by Eric Davidson, Anthony Read and George Gallacio and the set will also include a photo gallery featuring rare and previously unseen images, plus a 24-page booklet by film and TV historian Marcus Hearn.

Other horror and SF titles from DD Home Entertainment include the BBC’s SURVIVORS series and Hammer’s THE QUATERMASS XPERIMENT, SPACEWAYS and X THE UNKNOWN.
