.Ed Bishop and Michael Billington, two of the stars of the classic Gerry Anderson live-action series UFO (1969 – 1970) have both passed away, scifind is sad to report. Ed Bishop played Commander Ed Straker in the show, now regarded as one of the best Anderson television productions. He also provided the voice of Captain Blue in the original CAPTAIN SCARLET AND THE MYSTERONS series. He passed away on Wednesday 8th June following a short illness. Michael Billington played SHADO new-boy in the majority of the episodes and also appeared in the James Bond movie THE SPY WHO LOVED ME. Michael died on Monday 6th June after a long battle with cancer. Scifind sends its condolences to the families and fans of both actors.. ]]>
