Amongst the crew is a teenage genius, Lucas Wolenczak, and Darwin, the intelligent dolphin, who thanks to Lucas’s inventions can understand human speech and whose speech can be translated into English. In order to protect the fledgling underwater colonies form unknown dangers and hostile invaders the SeaQuest crew must remain battle-ready as it encounters an array of undersea colonies, lost treasures and aliens.
