HitchHikers Guide Charity Auction

.To celebrate the release of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, Buena Vista International has teamed up with eBay.co.uk to auction some very special items from the film in aid of author Douglas Adams’ favourite charities.

The items on offer to the highest bidder include key props from the film such Humma Kavula’s (John Malkovich) incense burner, a Vogon tissue box and even the actual towel used by Arthur Dent (Martin Freeman) to accompany him round the universe on his travels.

14 original design sketches from the UK’s leading fashion designers, inspired by the ‘Ultimate travel’ companion’ – Arthur Dent, will also be auctioned on eBay.co.uk. The designs are a result of collaboration between Central St Martins College of Art and Design and Touchstone Pictures. Among the sketches to be sold are designs by Wayne Hemmingway and Tatty Devine.

The auctions are now live on www.ebay.co.uk http://www.ebay.co.uk and will be promoted prominently throughout their 10 day run by the eBay UK team. Proceeds will be split between Save the Rhino International and The Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund.
